Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical-office review and coordination of all electrical engineering packages.
  • Review electrical design criteria, specifications, drawings, schedules, calculations and technical submissions.
  • Verify fault-level and short-circuit calculations for medium- and low-voltage systems.
  • Review load schedules, demand factors, diversity factors and maximum-demand calculations.
  • Validate voltage-drop calculations, cable sizing, current-carrying capacity and cable-derating factors.
  • Review protection-coordination studies, relay settings, selectivity analyses and time-current curves.
  • Verify earthing-system designs, earth-fault calculations, touch and step voltage criteria and bonding arrangements.
  • Review lightning-protection and surge-protection calculations and layouts.
  • Evaluate power-factor-correction requirements, harmonic studies and electrical power-quality considerations.
  • Review and recommend approval of shop drawings for medium- and low-voltage distribution networks.
  • Review substation arrangements, transformers, ring-main units, switchgear, distribution boards and feeder layouts.
  • Verify electrical designs for irrigation pump stations, lake systems, utility buildings and auxiliary facilities.
  • Review motor-control centres, variable-frequency drives, soft starters, motor protection and local-control panels.
  • Review standby generators, automatic transfer switches, synchronization panels and emergency-power arrangements.
  • Verify that equipment ratings, fault withstand capacity, ingress protection and environmental classifications are suitable for the intended installation.
  • Coordinate power requirements for irrigation pumps, lake aeration, water features, lighting and other landscape systems.
  • Review specialized schematics for golf-course two-wire irrigation decoders, field controllers, solenoid valves and central-control systems.
  • Verify interfaces among irrigation controllers, weather stations, flow sensors, pump controls and communication networks.
  • Review communication-cable routes, field-device requirements, surge protection and control-panel interfaces.
  • Coordinate electrical and control-system requirements with irrigation, mechanical, landscape and civil disciplines.
  • Validate lighting designs and photometric calculations for driving ranges, practice greens, pathways, roads, car parks and landscape areas.
  • Review glare control, uniformity, illumination levels, pole locations, luminaire selection and lighting-control strategies.
  • Coordinate external lighting with landscape features, irrigation networks, underground utilities and site operations.
  • Review clubhouse electrical systems, including normal, essential, emergency and uninterruptible power supplies.
  • Review clubhouse lighting, small power, distribution, metering, earthing and lightning-protection systems.
  • Review fire-alarm, Building Management System, CCTV, access-control, public-address, Wi-Fi, structured-cabling and other low-current systems.
  • Verify ELV system architecture, equipment compatibility, containment, power supplies and integration requirements.
  • Coordinate fire and life-safety systems with mechanical smoke-control, emergency-power and building-management systems.
  • Review electrical interfaces with architectural, structural, mechanical, civil, irrigation and landscape works.
  • Coordinate equipment-room layouts, electrical rooms, service corridors, risers, trenches, duct banks and cable routes.
  • Review Combined Services Drawings, coordinated shop drawings and BIM clash-detection reports.
  • Verify requirements for builders’ work, sleeves, openings, embedded items, equipment bases and maintenance clearances.
  • Evaluate electrical material and equipment submittals, including transformers, switchgear, distribution boards, cables, VFDs, luminaires, control panels and lightning-protection components.
  • Confirm compliance with approved specifications, calculations, datasheets, schedules and relevant standards.
  • Review manufacturers’ technical data, type-test certificates, factory-test procedures, warranties and spare-parts recommendations.
  • Respond to technical queries and RFIs and develop technically justified recommendations.
  • Review contractor design alternatives, deviations and value-engineering proposals.
  • Assess the technical and operational consequences of proposed changes before recommending acceptance.
  • Coordinate with Saudi Electricity Company and other authorities regarding connection requirements, technical approvals and energization.
  • Support resolution of SEC comments and monitor closure of outstanding technical requirements.
  • Conduct site visits to verify that installed systems comply with approved drawings and coordinated designs.
  • Provide technical support to the Senior Electrical Site Engineer during inspections, testing and problem resolution.
  • Review field changes and ensure that approved modifications are captured in redline drawings and final as-built documentation.
  • Review electrical testing and commissioning procedures, inspection and test plans, and commissioning schedules.
  • Witness or review tests for cables, switchgear, transformers, protection systems, generators, earthing, lighting and ELV systems.
  • Support integrated systems testing involving emergency power, fire alarm, BMS, security and life-safety systems.
  • Review testing results, commissioning reports, outstanding defects and corrective-action records.
  • Review electrical sections of operation and maintenance manuals, training materials, asset registers and handover packages.
  • Maintain technical review logs and monitor contractor responses, resubmissions and approval status.
  • Prepare technical reports highlighting design risks, noncompliance, outstanding decisions and recommended actions.
  • Advise the Project Manager on critical electrical matters affecting quality, cost, schedule, safety and system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code, Saudi Electricity Company standards, Civil Defense requirements, Client procedures and applicable international standards.
