The Role: Maintenance Technician 1

Vanderlande Industries * is seeking a Maintenance Technician 1 to join its team in Jeddah. This full-time position involves performing maintenance duties and responding to reactive calls for material handling systems at a customer site. The role focuses on ensuring system productivity, equipment availability, health and safety compliance, and overall operational quality within agreed timescales. The ideal candidate will have 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and electrical equipment, including motors, electrical circuits, ATR systems, baggage handling equipment, and conveyor systems, using diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals, manufacturer’s specifications, hand tools, and precision measuring/testing instruments.
• Adhere to safe working practices at all times, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
• Prepare and execute service calls, emergency maintenance, and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Perform preventive maintenance and follow up on corrective maintenance work orders.
• Report on service calls and advise on system optimization, consulting with the supervisor and proposing improvements for service process quality.
• Develop service supporting tools and means.
• Clear conveyor jams and resolve system errors.
• Attend to manual encoding stations and load correction zones.
• Complete CMMS Service Reports, Parts Usage, and Warranty Records.
• Research and request spare parts as needed, and perform inventory counts.
• Work independently on preventive maintenance tasks on site.
• Identify problems in planning and tooling, providing input for improvements.
• Assist other service technicians in correcting faults and independently resolve standard faults.
• Instruct and guide less experienced technicians.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of experience in a relevant maintenance or technical role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, electrical drawings, and operational manuals.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance, particularly Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.

Work Environment

This role is based at a customer site in Jeddah, requiring independent work on preventive maintenance tasks and collaborative efforts with other service technicians. The position is full-time, with a focus on maintaining material handling systems to ensure continuous operation and efficiency.
