Roles & Responsibilities
The Pediatric Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit has 13 beds. The most common cardiac surgical procedures:
- Congenital cardiac defect repairs
- Heart transplant
- Coronary artery bypass surgery
- Valve repair and/or replacement
- ECMO/VAD bridge to recovery and/or transplant
- Pacemaker implantation
- Left ventricular assist device
Desired Candidate Profile
Requirements:
- Medical Degree
- Current, active medical license in: Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand
- National Board Subspecialty Certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine from the United States, Canada, the UK, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand
- Fellowship training in pediatric cardiac surgical critical care required
- Minimum five years of post-specialty certification experience as a Consultant in Pediatric Cardiac Surgical Critical Care, working in a tertiary-care, academic hospital in the United States, Canada, the UK, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand
- Academic appointment preferred
- Research experience preferred
