Roles & Responsibilities

Mechanical Design & Engineering ◆ Lead full mechanical systems design across all project phases: concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction documentation. ◆ Design, size, and specify HVAC systems, including central plant, AHUs, FCUs, VAV, VRF/VRV, and district cooling connections. ◆ Develop complete plumbing and drainage systems, including domestic water supply, hot water generation, sanitary drainage, and grey/black water treatment. ◆ Design firefighting systems: wet and dry risers, sprinkler networks, FM200/clean agent systems, smoke extraction, and pressurization. ◆ Produce load calculations, equipment schedules, psychrometric analyses, pipe sizing, duct sizing, and energy modelling reports. ◆ Prepare full mechanical drawing packages: layout plans, schematics, sections, riser diagrams, details, and specifications. Technical Coordination & Quality ◆ Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines to resolve clashes and optimize spatial integration. ◆ Review and approve MEP BIM models for coordination and clash detection using Navisworks or equivalent platforms. ◆ Prepare and review technical submittals, method statements, material approval requests (MARs), and shop drawings from contractors. ◆ Conduct engineering reviews against Saudi Building Code (SBC), ASHRAE, NFPA, BS, and CIBSE standards. ◆ Perform energy compliance checks and sustainability assessments, including LEED/WELL mechanical prerequisites. Site Supervision & Construction Support ◆ Carry out regular site inspections to verify mechanical installations comply with approved design drawings and specifications. ◆ Attend site coordination meetings, technical workshops, and progress review sessions with contractors and clients. ◆ Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, and variation requests from the main contractor and subcontractors. ◆ Support commissioning and testing teams during system start-up, balancing, and performance verification stages. ◆ Prepare and review O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and handover documentation for final project close-out. Project & Stakeholder Management ◆ Manage mechanical design deliverable schedules and resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects. ◆ Liaise with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), SASO, Civil Defense, and municipal authorities for system approvals and NOCs. ◆ Lead client-facing technical presentations, design workshops, and value engineering reviews. ◆ Mentor junior and mid-level mechanical engineers, fostering technical growth and quality standards across the team. ◆ Collaborate with commercial and project management teams to deliver within the agreed budget, scope, and program.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised, accredited institution.

Minimum 12 years of post-graduation professional experience in mechanical building services engineering. At least 4–5 years in a Senior or Lead Mechanical Engineer role, managing design teams and project deliverables.

English fluency (written and spoken) is mandatory for all technical documentation, reports, and client interaction communication. Arabic language capability is advantageous for site coordination and authority interface
