Roles & Responsibilities
We are currently recruiting for a major power infrastructure project in Saudi Arabia and are looking for an experienced HV/EHV Protection & Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in transmission substations, protection systems, and SEC utility projects.
The ideal candidate must have hands-on expertise in testing, commissioning, energization, and protection relay systems for HV/EHV substations up to 380kV.
Execute testing & commissioning activities for HV/EHV substations
Perform relay testing, troubleshooting, and protection scheme modifications
Support substation energization and shutdown operations
Conduct SAT/FAT and prepare commissioning reports
Ensure compliance with SEC standards, procedures, and safety regulations
Coordinate with clients, consultants, QA/QC, and construction teams
Investigate faults and provide technical support during commissioning phases
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum 8+ years of experience in HV/EHV transmission and substation projects
Proven experience on :132kV / 220kV / 380kV substations, transmission & Grid Infrastructure Projects , live substations and utility environments
Strong hands-on experience in : protection Relay Testing & Configuration, relay Coordination & Fault Analysis, testing & Commissioning of HV/EHV equipment, GIS / AIS Substations, SCADA / SAS Systems, Transformer Testing, SAT / FAT Activities, Energization & Shutdown Procedures
Experience with Omicron, CPC100, Megger, Primary Injection Kits, and relay testing tools
Strong knowledge of SEC, IEC, IEEE and utility standards
SEC project experience is mandatory
SEC Approval / SEC Certified / MV Issuer Approval is highly preferred
C1 Certification is considered a major advantage
