Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of food establishments to ensure compliance with local and national food safety regulations.
• Develop and implement food safety training programs for staff to promote best practices in hygiene and sanitation.
• Investigate foodborne illness outbreaks and coordinate with health departments to identify sources and prevent future occurrences.
• Review and update food safety policies and procedures to keep pace with the latest scientific research and regulatory changes.
• Monitor and analyze food safety data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement in food handling practices.
• Collaborate with food manufacturers and suppliers to ensure proper sourcing and handling of raw materials.
• Perform audits of food safety management systems to verify adherence to industry standards and regulations.
• Assist in developing emergency response plans related to food safety incidents or recalls.
• Serve as a point of contact for food safety inquiries from the public, businesses, and regulatory agencies.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on food safety inspections and findings for stakeholders.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Certification in Food Safety Management Systems (like HACCP or ISO to demonstrate expertise in industry standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field is essential for foundational knowledge.

• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in food safety roles within the food production or hospitality industry is preferred.

• Familiarity with local and international food safety regulations, ensuring compliance with health codes.

• Strong analytical skills for evaluating data and making informed decisions based on food safety metrics.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey food safety information clearly to diverse audiences.
