Overview
The Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing risks associated with railway infrastructure and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities. This role requires a strong understanding of both railway-specific risks and corporate risk management practices. The Risk Manager will oversee risk-related activities across multiple O&M contractors, ensuring proper monitoring, evaluation, and mitigation of risks. Additionally, the role involves developing and implementing risk management policies, reviewing contractor risk registers, and advising the Employer on risk-related strategies to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
Your role
- Identify, assess, and monitor risks related to railway infrastructure and O&M activities
- Review and evaluate risk registers prepared by O&M contractors
- Ensure proper risk mitigation measures are implemented and tracked
- Develop, implement, and maintain Risk Management Policies and Procedures
- Monitor and report risks relevant to each O&M contractor
- Provide recommendations to minimize operational, safety, and financial risks
- Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to ensure alignment on risk management practices
- Support negotiation and resolution of risk-related issues
- Review and manage the Consultant s internal risk policies
- Advise the Employer on risk exposure and mitigation strategies
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits
- Maintain proper documentation and reporting of all risk management activities
Desired Candidate Profile
About you
- Bachelor s degree in engineering, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in risk management, preferably in railway or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of railway systems and associated operational risks
- Knowledge of corporate risk management frameworks and methodologies
- Experience in preparing and reviewing risk registers and mitigation plans
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good negotiation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to develop policies, procedures, and risk frameworks
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities
- Proficiency in risk management tools and documentation
