Role Overview
We are seeking a site-based Electrical Engineer to supervise and verify contractor execution of HV/MV electrical works for data center projects. The role focuses on compliance, testing readiness, electrical safety governance, energization activities, and coordination of substation-related works.
The ideal candidate will have strong HV/MV site supervision experience, solid knowledge of substation works, and exposure to data center or mission-critical project environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and inspect contractor execution of HV/MV works and substation activities.
- Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and project standards.
- Oversee switchgear, transformers, RMUs, substations, cables, joints, and terminations.
- Review technical submissions, including shop drawings, SLDs, method statements, ITPs, and risk assessments.
- Verify implementation of permit-to-work, LOTO, and HV safety requirements.
- Track progress and flag risks related to sequencing, safety, access, testing, and energization.
- Witness testing activities and support energization readiness reviews.
- Attend coordination and technical meetings with project and site stakeholders.
- Report discipline-specific issues, progress updates, and risks.
- Support utility authority coordination during inspections, testing, and energization activities.
- Verify contractor progress for payment validation.
- Support punch lists, as-built documentation, handover dossiers, NCRs, field changes, and variation requests.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience in electrical site supervision and inspection.
- Strong knowledge of HV/MV electrical works and substation delivery.
- Experience coordinating HV/MV systems with LV power distribution and protection schemes.
- Ability to review shop drawings, SLDs, method statements, ITPs, and technical submissions.
- Good understanding of electrical safety governance, including permit-to-work and LOTO requirements.
- Experience supporting testing, commissioning readiness, and energization activities.
- Strong coordination and reporting skills in a site-based project environment.
Nice to Have
- Data center or mission-critical project exposure.
- Utility coordination and approvals experience.
- Experience in substation energization.
- Familiarity with redundancy concepts and power reliability requirements.
- Experience in live or phased energization environments.
- Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and local electrical codes.
- Familiarity with protection coordination, earthing, and grounding studies.
- Experience using document management systems such as Aconex or Procore.
