The Environmental Specialist is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and implementing environmental management programs to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company sustainability goals. The role supports SAWACO’s environmental protection initiatives by conducting inspections, preparing reports, and coordinating activities that minimize environmental impact and promote resource efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitor and support compliance with environmental policies and regulations
• Conduct site inspections and prepare environmental checklists
• Prepare and maintain environmental documentation, reports, and records
• Collect and analyze environmental performance data
• Participate in environmental audits and follow up on actions
• Recommend improvements for environmental performance and efficiency
• Support environmental risk assessments and impact studies
• Conduct environmental awareness and training sessions
• Participate in site visits with contractors to ensure compliance
• Support ESG Officer in environmental initiatives

Skills

Experience in environmental management, compliance, or sustainability

Preferably in utilities, water, or industrial sectors

Key Skills:

• Knowledge of environmental principles, regulations, and sustainability
• Strong willingness to learn and develop
• Good organizational and documentation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field
• Preferred: ISO 14001 Lead Auditor / Environmental Compliance certifications
