Roles & Responsibilities

The QC Inspector – Scaffolding is responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and ensuring that all scaffolding erection, modification, and dismantling activities comply with project specifications, safety regulations, and international standards. The role ensures scaffold structures are safe, stable, and fit for use before being handed over for operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect scaffolding materials before use to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.

  • Verify scaffold erection, alteration, and dismantling activities are performed according to approved drawings and procedures.

  • Conduct daily inspections and issue scaffold tags (Green / Yellow / Red) based on condition and safety compliance.

  • Ensure compliance with international standards such as OSHA, BS EN 12811, and company/client requirements.

  • Prepare and maintain scaffold inspection reports, checklists, and documentation.

  • Coordinate with scaffold supervisors, safety officers, and construction teams for corrective actions.

  • Identify defects, unsafe conditions, or non-conformities and report them immediately.

  • Monitor load capacities, access points, guardrails, toe boards, and tie-ins for proper installation.

  • Participate in site audits, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.

  • Ensure all scaffolding work permits and approvals are in place before use.

  • Review and verify scaffolding design calculations and drawings when required.

  • Maintain records of inspections, certifications, and handover documents.

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical / Civil / Industrial or related field.

  2. Certification in Scaffolding Inspection (e.g., CISRS Scaffolding Inspector, OSHA, or equivalent).

  3. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in scaffolding inspection in construction, oil & gas, or industrial projects.

  4. Good knowledge of scaffold types (Tube & Fitting, System Scaffold, Mobile Scaffold, Suspended Scaffold).

  5. Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and safety regulations.

  6. Ability to read engineering drawings and scaffold design plans.

  7. Good communication and report-writing skills.

  8. Computer skills in MS Office and inspection documentation.
