The Geologist is one of a team within exploration responsible for day to day geological duties These will include (this is not exclusive);Geological mapping, making structural measurements and lithological descriptions Logging of diamond drill core according to company procedures Logging of RC drill chips according to company procedures Sampling outcrops and or soil sampling Logging and sampling trenches Operating GIS software, e.g. QGISThe Geologist reports directly to the Senior Geologist In general, all geological duties
Key Responsibilities :General knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of a geologist Completion of geological mapping accurately, gathering all required data Systematic logging of drill core, ensuring all data is captured in line with Company procedures RC drill logging completed in compliance with Company procedures Ensures QAQC systems are followed Engages positively to create a safety culture and reports any accidents or near misses Ensures all captured data is stored correctly on the Company’s IT systems Utilises data to produce geological maps and interpretations, and shares these with team members Looks after Company equipment and vehicles, where allocated, and ensures any deficiencies are reported Ensures camp and offices are kept in good order, either directly or with designated staff (if hired) Prepares reports on activities as requested Performs any other similar or related duties as required Experience:Mining or exploration experience including mapping and drill logging Skills in GIS and/or mining/exploration software will be well regarded Basic abilities in structural geology (taking measurements, recording), to be discussed at interview Knowledge of mineral identification/rock description, to be assessed either through providing rock samples to candidate as part of interview, or through a field assessment Mining or exploration experience including mapping and drill logging Skills in GIS and/or mining/exploration software will be well regarded Basic abilities in structural geology (taking measurements, recording), to be discussed at interview Knowledge of mineral identification/rock description, to be assessed either through providing rock samples to candidate as part of interview, or through a field assessment

Qualifications (Education & Certifications):Essential:BSc in geology A good level of spoken and written English KSA (manual gearbox) Light duty driving license MS Office skills Desirable:First Aid qualification
Significant walking is required, to cover the terrain adequately. At times physical labour may be needed, for example to move core boxes or samples, if field assistants are not available, using correct manual handling technique Driving 10%Walking and standing 80%Sitting 10%
Work is performed year-round, predominantly outside, with exposure to inclement and frequently hot weather. Terrain is demanding to walk over Possible environments with high levels of noise, dust, dirt, moving drilling machinery, etc
