Roles & Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise to ensure that the RSAF is provided with immediate support and sound practices based on user requirements. This includes the maintenance of Data Communication network systems, network servers, and LAN based software and utilities.
Provide LAN technical support services for networking solutions, system configurations and LAN based software and utilities. Install maintain and tune system servers and workstations. Manage network data security and access control.
Assist in the definition of Customer Requirements for LAN/WAN infrastructures.
Identify failures/failure trends and resolves network design and maintenance issues.
Communicate with senior management to implement, update, and manage network security service tools.
Execute on-site installation, setup, and integration of internal network devices.
Administer and ensures maintenance and updating of all Security Infrastructure computer systems and hardware platforms.
Assist executive management in designing and implementing network security plans and checklists for intrusion prevention.
Conduct network risk assessments, conduct network vulnerability scans, provide technical and encryption options for solutions.
Ensure his skills are updated in the latest security threats and solutions by attending appropriate courses, using reference material, internet resources, and vendor sponsored seminars.
Recommend and specify the purchase of related products and services.
Interface with the system users to provide a service, guidance and direction for LAN, server and desktop workstation problems.
Develop network server policies and standards for system requirements, installation, upgrades, backup strategies, disaster recovery, and continuity of business operations.
Manage servers and their associated operating systems and utilities.
Manage backup, Exchange, print, application Servers.
Manage security solutions e.g. Firewall, anti-virus and intrusion detection systems.
Manage all network hardware and equipment e.g. Routers, switches, hubs and UPS.
Manage the installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade, and troubleshooting of end users e.g. Workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
Ensure network connectivity of all workstations.
Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures.
Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Perform server and security audits.
Perform system backups and recovery.
Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
Participate in bespoke EW software design reviews, factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, and software evaluation.
