Job Purpose
The Last Mile Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the management and optimization of the last mile delivery operations, ensuring that customer orders are delivered on time and in excellent condition. The role involves overseeing daily delivery activities, managing delivery teams, and improving processes to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of last mile delivery strategies and resolving any issues that arise in the delivery process.
Key Accountabilities
- Operational Execution: Run day-to-day last-mile delivery operations, including scheduling, assigning drivers/riders, and ensuring orders go out on time.
- Driver/Fleet Management: Manage, train, and coach a team of drivers or delivery partners, including tracking attendance, performance, and compliance and a team of last mile leads
- KPI Monitoring & Optimization: Track and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rate (OTD), cost per delivery, and order accuracy.
- Logistics & Route Optimization: Utilize delivery management software to optimize routes for efficiency, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
- Issue Resolution: Actively solve problems such as courier breakdowns, delivery delays, and customer escalations.
- Warehouse Coordination: Coordinate closely with warehouse/dark store teams to ensure a smooth handover of orders.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce health, safety, and operational standards for the fleet
