Will be responsible for the field deployment, testing, configuration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of PMU-based synchrophasor systems across transmission or substation environments. The role involves hands-on work with PMUs, PDCs, communication networks, GPS clocks, SCADA/EMS integration, and data validation to ensure reliable real-time grid monitoring.
Responsibilities:- Lead the commissioning of Wide Area Monitoring Systems (WAMS) for power grid and utility projects.- Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules in alignment with project requirements.- Perform on-site installation, configuration, and testing of WAMS hardware and software components.- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and client teams to ensure successful system integration.- Conduct system validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to meet operational standards.- Prepare detailed technical documentation, commissioning reports, and handover materials.- Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams on WAMS operation and maintenance.- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines.- Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning, escalating complex problems as needed. Requirements:· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.· 5 years of proven experience in commissioning, installation, or maintenance of power system monitoring solutions.· Strong knowledge of Wide Area Monitoring Systems (WAMS) and related technologies.· Hands-on experience with SCADA, PMU (Phasor Measurement Units), and grid automation systems.· Familiarity with communication protocols such as IEC 61850, DNP3, and TCP/IP.· Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
