Requirements Saudi nationality is mandatory. Minimum of 12–15 years of experience in real estate development or the construction sector. At least 5 years of experience as an Engineering Department Director within real estate development companies. Proven experience in managing residential projects, infrastructure projects, and commercial/mixed-use developments (shopping malls, commercial centers). Previous experience as a Project Manager overseeing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects is preferred. Strong experience in engineering governance, project supervision, and contract management. Deep understanding of the real estate development lifecycle, from feasibility studies and design to construction and facilities management. Full proficiency in English. This role focuses on engineering governance, design management, project oversight, and coordination with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders across residential, infrastructure, and mixed-use commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities Engineering Oversight & Project Management Lead all engineering functions across development projects from concept to completion. Ensure project designs align with approved development strategies, feasibility studies, and commercial plans. Oversee engineering deliverables throughout all project stages (design, tendering, construction, and handover). Monitor overall project performance in terms of cost, schedule, quality, and compliance. Design Management & Consultants Ensure proper coordination between all disciplines and resolve design clashes. Control design changes and ensure they are technically justified and commercially aligned. Construction Oversight (Developer’s Perspective) Supervise contractor performance from the developer’s standpoint. Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and contracts. Identify technical risks early and recommend corrective actions to safeguard project objectives. Participate in key site reviews and technical progress meetings. Contracts & Governance Responsible for preparing, reviewing, and approving all engineering-related contracts with contractors, consultants, owners, and government authorities. Ensure contracts are technically sound, aligned with company objectives, and protect company interests. Review variations and change orders prior to approval and enforce contractual compliance. Maintain strong engineering governance and documentation standards for all contracts. Planning, Cost & Reporting Coordinate with project controls, finance, and commercial teams to ensure alignment between engineering progress and financial planning. Review project schedules, milestones, and engineering deliverables. Provide accurate technical progress reports to executive management. Support decision-making through reliable engineering data and analysis. Leadership & Strategy Lead and develop the engineering team and promote engineering best practices. Contribute to the company’s long-term development strategy from an engineering perspective. Ensure compliance with local regulations and requirements of relevant authorities. Promote quality, safety, and sustainability across all projects.
Qualifications & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Architectural, or Electrical Engineering (mandatory). Master’s degree in Engineering Management or MBA (preferred). Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (mandatory). Contract management certifications such as RICS, FIDIC, or equivalent. Additional training in engineering management, building codes, or project controls is a strong advantage.
