Operations Manager Reports To: Project Manager
Job Purpose Manage and oversee all on-site operational activities by assuming full operational ownership of facilities, coordinating with clients and contractors, and ensuring effective planning, execution, and monitoring of maintenance and operational programs to achieve service excellence, compliance, and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities Direct and control all site operational activities, ensuring compliance with approved policies, procedures, service standards, and contractual obligations. Lead, supervise, and develop operational staff by assigning work, monitoring performance, providing coaching, and ensuring appropriate training is delivered. Develop, implement, and monitor operational programs, contingency plans, and emergency response procedures to ensure uninterrupted service delivery. Coordinate closely with the Project Manager to report on operational performance, facility status, risks, and improvement requirements. Ensure all facility systems are properly operated and maintained, with preventive maintenance activities executed in accordance with approved schedules. Organize and conduct regular meetings with subordinates to communicate policies, procedures, performance expectations, and operational improvements. Coordinate with contractors and service providers to ensure timely, safe, and quality execution of operational and development-related activities. Prepare and submit daily and monthly operational status reports in line with project and client requirements. Develop and manage monthly operational plans aligned with site priorities, resource availability, and service delivery objectives. Coordinate with maintenance managers, work control center managers, and superintendents to monitor facility status, work progress, and issue resolution. Advise and support the Project Manager with operational updates, recommendations, and approvals related to facility operations.
Qualifications Essential University Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business Administration, or an equivalent discipline.
Experience Essential Minimum 14 years of professional experience. At least 5 years in a similar operations management role, managing site operations, facilities, and multi-disciplinary teams.
Skills & Knowledge Strong knowledge of facilities and site operations management. Proven ability to manage contractors, service providers, and operational teams. Experience in operational planning, reporting, and performance monitoring. Strong leadership, coordination, and decision-making skills. Ability to interface effectively with clients and senior stakeholders.
