Our newest opportunity is for a talented Senior Commercial & Contracts Manager to join our award-winning team in Riyadh. This senior role is responsible for managing and overseeing all commercial and contractual aspects of major projects, ensuring compliance, effective risk management, and value optimization for the client. The position requires close coordination with client project management and procurement teams and provides commercial leadership across the project lifecycle.



Responsibilities

Paramount to success within this varied role will include:


  • Managing and overseeing all commercial and contractual aspects of projects to ensure compliance with contract terms, client policies, and applicable procedures.
  • Maintaining and leading communication with the client’s project management teams and procurement departments to support effective decision-making and commercial alignment.


  • Demonstrating expertise and leadership across a wide range of Consultant Agreements and Construction Contracts, including bespoke and alternative procurement strategies.


  • Managing commercial activities on complex projects from design development through construction documentation, implementation, and close-out.


  • Preparing, reviewing, and administering project contracts, ensuring clarity of scope, risk allocation, and commercial protections.


  • Reviewing and ensuring the consistency, accuracy, traceability, and completeness of reports, valuations, measurements, progress claims, and Bills of Quantities in compliance with contractual requirements.


  • Ensuring adherence and compliance with agreed and approved procedures, governance frameworks, and the client’s policies.


  • Preparing, managing, and overseeing the client’s financial reporting processes and systems, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and auditability.


  • Assessing and validating monthly incurred costs, contractor and consultant estimates, and interim payments for accuracy, consistency, and continuity of cost data.


  • Executing and leading claims management and administration activities, including reviewing, investigating, validating, tracking, negotiating, and assessing time and cost impacts, and making recommendations to the client.


  • Initiating and administering contract change management processes, including change notices, management of change registers, logs, and databases, and overseeing Variation Orders for correctness, accuracy, traceability, and compliance with contractual scope and authority levels.


  • Managing contract administration through supervision, monitoring, evaluation, reporting of performance against contract requirements, and issuing contractual notices as required.


  • Supporting and advising project teams in the preparation, assembly, review, and routing of contractual and commercial documentation.


  • Participating in and contributing to regular project team meetings by providing commercial status updates, highlighting risks and issues, and supporting matters related to variations, payment authorizations, and invoice processing.


  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating commercial and contractual risks while advising the client on risk exposure and value optimization opportunities.


  • Organizing, leading, and motivating commercial and contracts personnel to ensure high performance, consistency, and professional excellence.



Qualifications
  • Bringing a minimum of 15–20 years’ experience in senior commercial and/or contracts management roles within a PMC or similar environment.


  • Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.


  • Possessing a Master’s degree in Construction Law, LLB, or a similar qualification (preferred).


  • Demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills with proven attention to detail and the ability to maintain positive client relationships and a professional firm image.
