Job Details

Responsibilities:




  • Inspect implementation of approved Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and detour arrangements on site.

  • Ensure proper installation and maintenance of traffic signs, barriers, cones, road markings, and safety devices.

  • Monitor contractor compliance with approved traffic diversion and detour plans.

  • Coordinate with the PMC team, contractor, and relevant authorities regarding traffic staging and changes.

  • Identify unsafe traffic conditions and immediately report non-compliances or hazards.

  • Ensure pedestrian and public safety is maintained at all times around work zones.

  • Verify that temporary traffic arrangements meet Saudi traffic regulations and project requirements.

  • Maintain daily inspection records and submit reports to the Traffic Engineer or Resident Engineer.

  • Review method statements related to traffic control and detours and provide inspection feedback.

  • Monitor night works, lane closures, and traffic switches as required by the project.

  • Assist during audits, inspections, and coordination meetings related to traffic management.

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

  • Verify that all traffic control devices are approved, visible, clean, and correctly positioned at all times.

  • Monitor traffic flow around work zones and report congestion or safety risks with recommended corrective actions.

  • Ensure detour routes are clearly signed and accessible for emergency vehicles and public transport.

  • Check contractor compliance with approved working hours, lane closure permits, and authority approvals.

  • Coordinate with local authorities and traffic police during major traffic switches or critical activities, as directed by PMC.

  • Review and verify risk assessments related to traffic and detour activities on site.

  • Ensure proper lighting, reflectors, and warning systems are provided for night works.

  • Monitor reinstatement of temporary diversions and ensure removal of traffic devices after completion of works.

  • Support incident investigations related to traffic accidents or near-miss events within the project area.

  • Attend site coordination meetings and provide traffic and detour status updates.

  • Ensure public complaints related to traffic disruptions are recorded and communicated to the PMC team.

  • Assist in preparing traffic inspection checklists and compliance registers.

  • Monitor interface areas where construction activities interact with live traffic.

  • Ensure temporary access to adjacent properties, businesses, and facilities is maintained.


Essential Requirements:




  • Minimum 7 years of experience in traffic management, detours, or road infrastructure projects.

  • Previous experience on PMC or supervision consultancy projects is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of traffic control standards, work zone safety, and detour management.

  • Familiar with Saudi Arabia traffic regulations and authority requirements.

  • Good reporting, coordination, and communication skills.
