Construction Manager will be responsible for overall management, supervision, and coordination of construction activities for a PMC infrastructure project involving roads, bridges, and tunnels. The role ensures construction works are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, schedule, quality standards, and client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the implementation of construction plans, schedules, and methodologies.
- Coordinate construction activities across roads, bridges, and tunnel works to ensure project milestones are met.
- Monitor progress and ensure adherence to project timelines and resources.
- Ensure compliance with quality control and assurance requirements.
- Monitor implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards on site.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments and implement corrective measures.
- Oversee day-to-day construction operations and provide guidance to site engineers and supervisors.
- Ensure proper coordination among all disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, ITS, and landscape.
- Resolve site issues, technical challenges, and conflicts promptly.
- Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and client representatives.
- Ensure contractors comply with contractual obligations and project specifications.
- Participate in technical meetings, site inspections, and progress review meetings.
- Monitor construction costs and resource allocation to ensure efficiency and minimize wastage.
- Approve site resource requirements and verify proper utilization.
- Support claims, variations, and cost tracking as required.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, progress reports, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare periodic reports on construction progress, risks, and mitigation measures.
- Support audits, authority inspections, and client reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in construction management for major infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience on roads, bridges, and tunnel projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality control procedures.
- Familiarity with international standards, codes, and local authority regulations.
- Excellent leadership, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
