ResponsibilitiesOur newest opportunity is for a highly experienced Design Coordination Manager to join our site supervision team in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Design Coordination Manager shall lead and manage all design coordination activities associated with enabling and early works packages, acting as part of the Site Supervision Consultant team. The role is responsible for ensuring design consistency, constructability, and technical alignment across multiple disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders, supporting the timely issuance of construction-ready design information.
This position is critical to the early identification and resolution of design clashes, interface risks, and constructability issues, ensuring enabling works designs support safe, sequenced, and efficient construction and a smooth transition into main works packages.
The Design Coordination Manager shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Lead design coordination across all enabling and early works packages including infrastructure, utilities, earthworks, temporary works, and early access works
- Manage and coordinate design inputs from multiple designers, specialist consultants, and contractor design teams
- Ensure design deliverables are coordinated, compliant, and issued in accordance with the approved design programme and construction sequencing requirements
- Chair design coordination meetings, technical workshops, and multi-discipline interface sessions
- Review design submissions for compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, and authority regulations
- Identify, manage, and resolve design clashes, inconsistencies, and interface issues at early stages
- Promote constructability, value engineering, risk reduction, and buildability during design development
- Coordinate design responses to site constraints, logistics, access, and sequencing requirements
- Work closely with the Stakeholder and Interface Manager to manage design-related interfaces with authorities, utilities, and third parties
- Coordinate design approvals and technical requirements with authorities, utility providers, and external stakeholders
- Support utility diversion designs, tie-ins, protection works, and early infrastructure solutions
- Align design deliverables with construction programmes and enabling works phasing
- Manage design changes, assessing impacts on cost, programme, risk, and construction methodology
- Support the transition of enabling works designs into main works packages, ensuring continuity and traceability
- Maintain design registers, design trackers, interface logs, and issue resolution records
- Prepare design status reports, technical risk summaries, and recommendations for Client review
- Ensure compliance with design management procedures, governance frameworks, and approval workflows
- Lead, manage, and mentor discipline leads and design coordinators within the supervision team
- Foster a collaborative, integrated, and solution-focused design environment across all parties
QualificationsTo be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include minimum of 8 years’ professional experience in design coordination, design management, or technical delivery roles partnered with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a senior or lead design coordination role on infrastructure or major development projects
- Proven experience coordinating multi-disciplinary designs for enabling works, early works, or infrastructure-led developments
- Demonstrated experience managing authority approvals, utilities coordination, and complex design interfaces
- Strong understanding of multi-disciplinary design coordination and constructability principles
- Ability to identify and resolve design and interface risks early in the project lifecycle
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and technical coordination skills
- Structured, proactive, and detail-oriented approach to design management
Professional registration is preferred
Experience working within a supervision consultant or Engineer-led environment is advantageous
