Job Description: Carbon Investment Consultant Job Summary The Carbon Investment Consultant will lead strategic efforts in analyzing and evaluating carbon credit projects. This role is responsible for designing the technical and regulatory frameworks that ensure project compliance with national and international standards. The primary objective is to maximize environmental and economic returns by developing innovative revenue-sharing models and rigorous impact measurement tools to ensure project eligibility and high-quality credit issuance. Key Responsibilities Project Analysis & Evaluation:Conduct technical and financial feasibility studies for carbon emission reduction projects. Assess project "eligibility" for carbon credits based on core principles such as Additionality, Permanence, and leakage prevention. Regulatory Framework & Standards Development:Formulate and draft national standards for the registration and issuance of carbon credits. Develop policies and procedures governing the local carbon market in alignment with global trends and Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Financial Engineering & Revenue Modeling:Design Revenue Sharing Models between public entities, private sectors, and investors. Provide strategic consultancy on structuring carbon investments to ensure sustainable profitability and risk mitigation. Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV):Develop tools and methodologies for environmental impact measurement to ensure the accuracy of emission reduction data. Oversee third-party verification processes to guarantee the integrity and quality of issued credits. Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in sustainability, carbon markets, or climate finance. Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of GHG Protocols, Verra (VCS), Gold Standard, and CDM methodologies. Analytical Skills: Advanced ability in financial modeling and environmental data analytics.
