Estimation Manager - MEP

Job Purpose The Estimation Manager – MEP is responsible for leading the estimation and tendering activities for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works. The role ensures accurate cost estimation, competitive pricing, and timely submission of tenders while maintaining compliance with technical specifications, project requirements, and company profitability targets.
Key Roles & Responsibilities Estimation & Cost Planning Prepare detailed cost estimates for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, including HVAC, electrical power & lighting, ELV systems, plumbing, drainage, fire fighting, and fire alarm Analyze drawings, specifications, BOQs, and scope documents to determine accurate quantities and costs Develop preliminary budgets and cost plans during pre-tender and design development stages
Tender Management Manage the full tender lifecycle from receipt of enquiry through final submission Review tender documents, technical specifications, and contractual conditions Prepare pricing summaries, commercial submissions, and tender clarifications
Subcontractor & Supplier Management Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with MEP subcontractors and suppliers Obtain and assess quotations for technical compliance and commercial competitiveness Maintain updated cost databases, rate libraries, and approved vendor lists
Technical & Commercial Review Ensure alignment between MEP design intent and cost estimates Identify value engineering options, alternative systems, and cost-saving opportunities Assess risks related to design, coordination, constructability, and market pricing
Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement Coordinate with design, BIM, procurement, and project teams to ensure accurate estimation Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and tender clarification meetings Support post-tender negotiations and smooth handover to project execution teams
Team Leadership & Management Lead, mentor, and supervise MEP estimators and engineers Review and approve estimates prepared by the estimation team Allocate workloads and ensure adherence to tender deadlines
Reporting & Controls Prepare management reports on tender performance, bid success ratios, and cost variances Monitor market trends, material price fluctuations, and labor costs Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and risk management policies
