About the Role As Chief of Staff (CoS), you will be a senior executive who acts as a strategic partner to a CEO or other C-suite leader, managing day-to-day operations, overseeing key projects, and driving organisational efficiency. The CoS serves as a trusted advisor, sounding board for ideas, and a facilitator of communication and relationships, both internally and externally. They help translate the leader's vision into action plans, manage strategic initiatives, and ensure the smooth, effective operation of the organization.
Responsibilities Executive Support & Strategic Alignment: Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CEO or executive leadership team. Translate the CEO’s vision, strategy, and priorities into actionable plans across departments. Support decision-making by gathering, analysing, and presenting relevant data and insights. Prioritise the CEO’s agenda to ensure focus on strategic initiatives. Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations for internal and external meetings. Ensure alignment between corporate strategy and departmental objectives.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Execution: Lead coordination between executive functions (HR, Finance, Operations, Strategy, etc.) to ensure effective collaboration. Track organisational priorities and drive accountability for key deliverables. Identify interdependences and remove bottlenecks between departments. Facilitate cross-departmental communication to ensure clarity and speed in execution. Act as a central liaison between leadership, senior managers, and teams.
Strategic Planning & Organisational Development: Support annual and quarterly strategic planning cycles. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor organisational performance. Contribute to the design and implementation of new business processes, structures, and initiatives. Partner with HR and leadership on organisational culture, engagement, and talent development. Lead special strategic projects on behalf of the CEO (e.g., market expansion, restructuring, transformation initiatives).
Communication, Reporting & Stakeholder Management: Manage executive communications — drafting internal memos, board updates, and external correspondence. Coordinate board of directors’ meetings, compile reports, and follow up on action points. Represent the CEO in select meetings or committees, ensuring follow-through on commitments. Foster transparent communication between executives, teams, and external stakeholders. Support brand and reputation management through consistent, strategic messaging.
Operational Excellence & Performance Monitoring: Oversee implementation of key initiatives and performance dashboards. Establish systems to measure and report organisational progress toward strategic goals. Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with executive intent. Identify operational inefficiencies and propose data-driven solutions. Collaborate with Finance to align budgets and resources with strategic priorities.
Leadership, Mentorship & Team Development: Coach and support department heads and project leaders in goal alignment and execution. Mentor high-potential employees to build the next generation of leaders. Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration. Facilitate leadership off-sites, retreats, and internal communication sessions.
Governance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks, policies, and procedures. Support risk assessment and mitigation initiatives across departments. Coordinate internal audits, performance reviews, and corporate governance processes. Manage confidential and sensitive matters with discretion and integrity.
Innovation & Change Management: Drive transformation programs, digital initiatives, and innovation road-maps. Act as a change agent to embed agility and continuous improvement within the organisation. Evaluate emerging trends, technologies, and market shifts to advise executive leadership.
Representation & External Engagement: Represent the CEO and company at external events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings when needed. Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, vendors, and regulatory entities. Support corporate social responsibility (CSR) or public relations initiatives as delegated.
Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related discipline.10–15 years of progressive experience in leadership, strategy, or business operations roles in EPC.
