Key Accountability:
- Manage the supplier database while proactively seeking and developing new suppliers that strategically fit within the company’s annual Operating Plan.
- Manage the process of daily requisitions, expedite deliveries, resolve quality issues & adjust supply chain as required.
- Conduct physical inventories quarterly or as required.
- Work closely with Product Design to ensure timely, cost-effective solutions to support the company's new products and improvements.
- Research Match Audit issues as they pertain to commodities
- Set standard costs and lead times for all raw material commodities
- Maintain all related part number data on SAP, or other related systems
- Manage direct reports: Buyers/ Purchasing Assistants
- Responsible for commodity purchases to support all the company’s business requirements.
- Manage multiple programs to ensure uninterrupted supply to the shop floor.
- Interact with internal and external suppliers and focus on their performance
- Resolve invoicing exceptions with suppliers and internal Accounts Payable Department.
- Develop, implement and manage cost savings ideas.
- Effectively communicate with user departments such as Marketing, Scheduling, Manufacturing, Contract Engineering, Product Design Group as well as Senior Management.
- Responsible for reporting and performance to the best-standardized metrics for Sunbulah Group.
- Survey the marketplace to identify the best source to fit Company requirements.
- Standardization and continuity of quality and supply are paramount for the successful operation of the manufacturing process.
- Allocate resources as required to solicit quotations from qualified suppliers for new and existing materials.
- Support Purchasing’s goal to build strategic supplier partnerships that will guarantee continuous supply in any market condition and develop process improvements
- Approximately 10% travel to other company sites and supplier visitations
- Coordinate supplier certification, supplier ratings, and sourcing initiatives with the Manager of Purchasing and other Sunbulah Group’s Purchasing staff.
Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum 1-3 years in purchasing with good knowledge and experience.
- University degree in a business-related field, a higher academic qualification is a plus.
