As Airport Manager your job purpose to ensure a world-class, efficient and identifiably Virgin Atlantic airport experience with the safety and security of our Customers, staff and equipment at the heart of everything we do. Our Airport Managers will oversee the delivery of a high-quality customer experience as the primary objective of the airport team. Responsible for achieving objectives within the agreed financial constraints and representing Virgin Atlantic with local Authorities, regulators, and service providers. Overall responsibility for all Airport activities, including contract management of all operational service providers.

You must be able to influence and consult with both internal and external Customers and stakeholders. This role requires a proven ability to assess, communicate and act on VAA interests in relation to Safety and security requirements, Local authority and regulatory standards and audits. The Airport Manager role also requires the ability to lead and motivate the Airport team through impactful, timely and motivational communications. Regular One to One, in person meetings with direct reports should be structured to promote conversations and deliver meaningful two way feedback.


To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Proven Airport and Airline Operations leadership experience.
  • leading/managing large teams and a proven record of driving a strong safety oriented culture.
  • 2 years in equivalent role with an international carrier (preferred)
  • Understanding of local safety, regulatory and government policies and regulations
  • Proven track record of decision-making and proactive change management, evidenced by relevant management experience in a customer focused environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving capability.
  • Able to quickly and competently analyse data, and use to effect operational and strategic action plans.
  • Proven experience of budget forecasting and management
  • Broad commercial awareness in an Airport and Airline environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing customer driven environment and prepared to work unsocial hours and be flexible.
  • Competent use of MS Office products as business tools for presentation and communication purposes
