Tax Director

Position Summary:

The Finance TAX Director is responsible for overseeing the organization’s tax compliance, tax planning, and risk management related to taxation. The role involves developing and implementing tax strategies that optimize the company’s tax position while ensuring compliance with local, national, and international tax laws. The Finance TAX Director will work closely with the finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure that all tax-related matters are managed effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance & Reporting:
  • Ensure the company complies with all local, state, federal, and international tax regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other relevant filings.
  • Manage external tax audits, coordinating with tax authorities and providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Tax Strategy & Planning:
  • Develop and implement tax strategies that optimize the company’s tax position and minimize liabilities.
  • Advise senior management on the tax implications of various business decisions, including mergers, acquisitions, and capital investments.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and evaluate their potential impact on the company.
  • Identify and evaluate tax-saving opportunities, including credits, deductions, and incentives.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and manage tax risks related to the company’s operations, transactions, and financial activities.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate tax-related risks.
  • Collaborate with the legal and finance teams to ensure tax compliance in all business areas.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis:
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate tax provisions during financial reporting.
  • Prepare forecasts, models, and budgets to predict the tax impact of future business activities and decisions.
  • Assist in budgeting processes by providing tax-related financial projections.
  • Tax Advisory & Leadership:
  • Serve as the primary contact for tax authorities, external advisors, and auditors on all tax matters.
  • Provide technical tax advice to internal teams and external stakeholders on complex tax issues.
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a tax team, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the team is up to date with the latest tax regulations and industry best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in tax management, including corporate tax, VAT, and international tax.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international tax regulations, including expertise in compliance and tax strategy development.
  • Experience managing taxation for complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and cross-border operations.
  • Proficiency in tax software and financial management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
