Roles and Responsibilities:-
- Oversee the library to ensure cleanliness, order, and protection of the library’s resources.
- Develop and organize library inventory (e.g., books, collections, periodicals, multimedia, etc.).
- Conduct regular checks and updates on database information.
- Help patrons research reading materials and references.
- Publish and update content on SAFFIR’s website (e.g., book summaries, reviews, blog, etc.).
- Research and implement new information system techniques.
- Organize activities and promotional events (e.g., youth football, author readings, book reviews, etc.).
- Manage library budgeting and billing for new equipment.
- Support researchers and international visitors’ requests.
- Establish and implement digital library policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Monitor the digital library's usage and maintain accurate records of library materials, such as circulation statistics and inventory.
- Classify and catalog new acquisitions using appropriate library classification systems.
- Perform updates and maintenance for the digital library system on a regular basis.
- Assist patrons in accessing digital library resources easily, answering inquiries, and providing guidance and support for their research needs.
- Collaborate with researchers, educators, and other professionals to optimize the digital library’s offerings.
- Ensure the digital content complies with copyright and data protection laws in Saudi Arabia.
- Stay updated on new trends and technologies in digitalization and e-library science, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the SAFFIR library.
- Support in organizing the calendars of SAFFIR.
- Ensure that all documents and procedures are clearly arranged.
- Assist in maintaining good feedback with the Saudi academic community and the scientific board of SAFFIR.
- Assist with the research process.
- Play an active role and contribute to SAFFIR’s promotion and reputation.
- Create profiles for SAFFIR staff, researchers, and fellow visitors.
- Deliver lectures in Arabic upon request.
- Work from the SAFFIR office every day.
Minimum Qualifications
- BSc or equivalent in Library Science; a master’s in Library Science or Information Management is a plus.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Experience in working with researchers and academics.
- Experience in working in archives.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilit
- Prior knowledge of football or experience is ideal however not essential.
- Ability to follow regulations and schedules (prior knowledge is desirable).
- Problem-solving. - Arabic and English, written and verbal.
- Night and weekend work is required.
