Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership:
  • Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic Planning: Create and execute an HSE strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  1. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to regulatory agencies and senior management.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  1. Program Management:
  • Training: Develop and deliver HSE training programs to ensure that employees are knowledgeable about safety practices, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure readiness for potential incidents.
  1. Safety Culture:
  • Culture Promotion: Foster a positive safety culture by promoting awareness, engagement, and accountability among employees.
  • Communication: Ensure effective communication of HSE policies, procedures, and best practices throughout the organization.
  1. Environmental Management:
  • Sustainability: Develop and implement environmental management programs to promote sustainability and reduce the organization’s environmental impact.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards, and manage waste disposal, recycling, and pollution control efforts.
  1. Team Management:
  • Leadership: Lead and manage the HSE team, including setting objectives, providing guidance, and evaluating performe

  • Management Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage an HSE team effectively.
  • Decision-Making: Strong decision-making skills with the ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
  1. Regulatory Knowledge:
  • Compliance Expertise: In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Legal Understanding: Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  1. Communication:
  • Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees, management, and regulatory agencies.
  • Training Ability: Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
  1. Analytical Skills:
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve HSE issues and incidents.
  • Risk Management: Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
  1. Technical Proficiency:
  • HSE Systems: Familiarity with HSE management systems and tools.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of HSE technical aspects, including environmental science, safety engineering, and industrial hygiene.
  1. Educational Background:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in HSE management (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) are preferred.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in HSE management roles, with a track record of successfully implementing and managing HSE programs.
