Role/ Department:
Northern Trust has an established Saudi Compliance function; part of a wider EMEA Compliance framework; with Saudi partners based in Riyadh office. The team uses a structured and risk based Compliance Programme, to provide assurance to Senior Management of the Saudi licenses to conduct securities business within the Kingdom; and compliance with their regulatory obligations.
This role is based in Riyadh and will report to the Chief Compliance Officer & MLRO of Northern Trust Company of Saudi Arabia. The person will work closely with all members of the EMEA Compliance team and TNTCoSA Senior Management, as well as regional/global compliance team members.

- Monitors and reviews procedures and practices of partners to assure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and adherence to internal policies.
- Advises business partners on compliance programmes and applicable laws, regulations, rules and standards, including keeping them informed of developments or changes that may affect their area.
- Responds to internal and external inquiries and requests for information to clarify regulatory requirements. May recommend appropriate procedural changes.
- Assists in the development of Compliance programmes and may act as a contact point within the company for Compliance inquiries from partners.
- Identifies and documents any Compliance risks associated with the Company's activities.
- Researches and develops analytical reports and solutions for issues being addressed by the department.
- Participates in training partners and delivering communications on applicable laws and regulations.
- Coordinates and/or performs activities related to designated Compliance initiatives.
- Carries out Compliance-related activities through direct interaction with committees and management.
- Monitors internal procedures and files relating to laws, regulations, rules and standards; and ensures they are accessible to business partners and management.
- Works on projects and learning project management skills.
- Communicates with the regulator on reporting obligations and queries, ensuring timely and accurate responses in line with regulatory expectations.
- Implements and monitors Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) controls, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
- Supports periodic AML/CTF risk assessments and assists with investigations into suspicious activities, escalating findings as required.
- Performs compliance monitoring and testing activities to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitors personal account dealing activities to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Supports Rule Maps review to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal compliance frameworks.
- Supports compliance risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential regulatory and operational risks.
- Supports internal periodic reporting to EMEA or senior management, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of compliance updates and metrics.
Skills/Qualifications
- Previous experience in the Compliance field within Capital Market Institutions.
- CME Qualified – Currently or previously a Compliance registered person with CMA.
- Highly motivated individual who wishes to develop their skills within a progressive compliance role in a financial services environment.
- Compliance monitoring, AML, Audit, Risk or Control experience and/or experience of providing advisory support to business areas would be an advantage.
- Ability to convey complex concepts or large amounts of data, in a clear and concise manner to diverse and senior audiences (verbal and written).
- Capable of making decisions, applies sound judgement and knows how/when to escalate.
- Ability to operate within strict reporting deadlines whilst balancing multiple, competing priorities.
- Influencing and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven and strong learning agility with a keen desire to support the development of others.
- Self-starter and team player.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.

- مراقبة ومراجعة إجراءات وممارسات الشركاء لضمان الامتثال للمتطلبات التنظيمية المعمول بها والالتزام بالسياسات الداخلية.
- تقديم المشورة لشركاء الأعمال بشأن برامج الالتزام والقوانين واللوائح والقواعد والمعايير المعمول بها، بما في ذلك إبقاؤهم على اطلاع بالتطورات أو التغييرات التي قد تؤثر على مجالهم.
- الرد على الاستفسارات والطلبات الداخلية والخارجية للحصول على معلومات لتوضيح المتطلبات التنظيمية. وقد يوصي بالتغييرات الإجرائية المناسبة.
- المساعدة في تطوير برامج الالتزام وقد يعمل كنقطة اتصال داخل الشركة لاستفسارات الالتزام من الشركاء.
- تحديد وتوثيق أي مخاطر التزام مرتبطة بأنشطة الشركة.
- إجراء البحوث وإعداد التقارير والحلول التحليلية للمشكلات التي تتعامل معها الإدارة.
- المشاركة في تدريب الشركاء وتقديم التواصل والتوعية بشأن القوانين واللوائح المعمول بها.
- تنسيق و/أو تنفيذ الأنشطة المتعلقة بمبادرات الالتزام المحددة.
- تنفيذ الأنشطة المتعلقة بالالتزام من خلال التفاعل المباشر مع اللجان والإدارة.
- مراقبة الإجراءات والملفات الداخلية المتعلقة بالقوانين واللوائح والقواعد والمعايير؛ وضمان إمكانية الوصول إليها من قبل شركاء الأعمال والإدارة.
- العمل على المشاريع واكتساب مهارات إدارة المشاريع.
- التواصل مع الجهة التنظيمية بشأن التزامات التقارير والاستفسارات، مع ضمان تقديم ردود دقيقة وفي الوقت المناسب بما يتماشى مع التوقعات التنظيمية.
- تطبيق ومراقبة ضوابط مكافحة غسل الأموال (AML) ومكافحة تمويل الإرهاب (CTF)، وضمان الامتثال للمعايير المحلية والدولية.
- دعم تقييمات مخاطر مكافحة غسل الأموال وتمويل الإرهاب الدورية والمساعدة في التحقيقات المتعلقة بالأنشطة المشبوهة، ورفع النتائج حسب الحاجة.
- تنفيذ أنشطة مراقبة واختبار الالتزام لتقييم فعالية الضوابط الداخلية وتحديد مجالات التحسين.
- مراقبة أنشطة التداول للحسابات الشخصية لضمان الالتزام بالسياسات الداخلية والمعايير التنظيمية.
- دعم مراجعة خرائط القواعد لضمان التوافق مع المتطلبات التنظيمية وأطر الالتزام الداخلية.
- دعم تقييمات مخاطر الالتزام لتحديد وتقييم والحد من المخاطر التنظيمية والتشغيلية المحتملة.
- دعم إعداد التقارير الدورية الداخلية لإدارة منطقة أوروبا والشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا أو الإدارة العليا، مع ضمان تقديم مستجدات ومقاييس الالتزام في الوقت المناسب وبدقة.
المهارات / المؤهلات
- خبرة سابقة في مجال الالتزام داخل مؤسسات السوق المالية.
- مؤهل في اختبارات هيئة السوق المالية (CME) – مسجل حالياً أو سابقاً كشخص مسجل في الالتزام لدى هيئة السوق المالية (CMA).
- شخص لديه دافعية عالية ويرغب في تطوير مهاراته ضمن دور التزام متقدم في بيئة الخدمات المالية.
- تعتبر الخبرة في مراقبة الالتزام، أو مكافحة غسل الأموال، أو المراجعة، أو المخاطر، أو الضوابط، و/أو تقديم الدعم الاستشاري لمجالات الأعمال ميزة إضافية.
- القدرة على إيصال المفاهيم المعقدة أو كميات كبيرة من البيانات بأسلوب واضح وموجز لجمهور متنوع وكبار المسؤولين (شفهياً وكتابياً).
- قادر على اتخاذ القرارات، وتطبيق التقييم السليم، ومعرفة كيفية ومتى يتم تصعيد الموضوعات.
- القدرة على العمل ضمن المواعيد النهائية المحددة للتقارير مع الموازنة بين الأولويات المتعددة والمتنافسة.
