Job Summary:We are seeking a Senior Testing & Commissioning Engineer to oversee and execute the testing, inspection, and commissioning activities across large-scale projects. As part of the team you will oversee, testing & commissioning, review documentation (method statements, ITPs, T&C procedures & plan, inspections), and ensure compliance with applicable Saudi standards.
The role is responsible for ensuring all installed systems are fully functional, meet design specifications, comply with applicable standards, and are safely and successfully handed over for operation. The candidate should have strong technical expertise, hands-on commissioning experience, and the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage end-to-end testing and commissioning (T&C) activities for MEP systems. Plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning schedules in line with project timelines System Testing: Plan and execute pre-commissioning and functional testing for mechanical, electrical, and ELV systems (e.g., HVAC, firefighting, BMS integration). Project Leadership: Supervise site commissioning teams, coordinate with contractors/clients, and handle handover procedures. Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC) and local Saudi regulations. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth commissioning and handover. Support project handover, including documentation, client training, and snag resolution. Act as the technical point of contact for commissioning-related queries. Review method statements, test procedures, and commissioning documentation. Ensure all systems are tested and commissioned in accordance with international standards and project requirements. Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning phases. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians. Lead the testing of complex Electro-mechanical systems, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards, while meeting LEED sustainability standards. Ensure that design specifications are precisely followed. Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders, maintaining transparency on project progress and addressing concerns proactively. Work closely with the PMC and Client representatives to align the project with their vision and objectives.
Key Qualifications:Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Professional Experience: Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in managing large-scale projects, with at least 7 years on projects of similar scope and 5 years within the GCC region. Proven track record in leading projects with high functional standards, especially in culturally significant or high-profile developments. Previous experience with Construction Supervision Consultant will be an added advantage Technical Skills: Technical proficiency in MEP systems including but not limited to LV/MV systems, ELV systems (CCTV, Access Control), BMS, and HVAC performance testing. Proven experience in leading site teams and managing commissioning programs. Solid understanding of international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NFPA) and commissioning best practices. Experience in large-scale building projects (high-rise, commercial, hospitality, or infrastructure) is preferred. Familiarity with testing equipment and commissioning software is an advantage. Knowledge of local authority regulations and approvals Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), LEED, or equivalent) are an added advantage. Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. Strong time management and organizational skills.
