Job Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic relationships, and driving revenue growth for the company's steel fabrication and manufacturing services. The role focuses on acquiring new clients, maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, and expanding the company's presence across construction, oil & gas, infrastructure, industrial, and engineering sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Ø Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets.
Ø Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve sales targets.
Ø Generate qualified leads through networking, industry events, referrals, and market research
Ø Build long-term relationships with contractors, consultants, EPC companies, developers, and industrial clients.
Ø Prepare annual business development plans and sales forecasts.
Sales & Client Management
Ø Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Ø Conduct client meetings, presentations, and technical discussions.
Ø Understand customer requirements and coordinate with engineering and estimating teams to prepare competitive proposals.
Ø Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and pricing while maintaining company profitability.
Ø Follow up on quotations and convert opportunities into confirmed orders.
Market Intelligence
Ø Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing.
Ø Identify emerging industries and projects requiring structural steel fabrication.
Ø Maintain an updated database of ongoing and upcoming projects.
Tender & Proposal Management
Ø Review tender documents and coordinate bid submissions.
Ø Work closely with estimation, engineering, procurement, and production departments to ensure accurate quotations.
Ø Ensure timely submission of proposals and supporting documentation.
Customer Relationship Management
Ø Maintain excellent customer satisfaction throughout project execution.
Ø Resolve commercial issues in coordination with internal departments.
Ø Develop repeat business and long-term strategic partnerships.
Qualifications
Ø Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Ø MBA is an advantage.
