A leading company in the service/industrial sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is seeking a talented and ambitious Cost Accountant to join the accounting team and develop financial processes.
The position aims to support improving cost accuracy, financial reporting, and cost analysis to enhance the organization’s efficiency and profitability. The opportunity is suitable for a university intern looking to build a career in accounting and costing within a professional work environment and intensive hands-on training.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and track direct and indirect material costs according to the approved accounting standards.
- Analyze cost variances and provide data-supported reports on deviations and improvement recommendations.
- Calculate production costs and updates to prices and units of measurement and link them to material invoices and expense ledgers.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly cost reports and explain the results to management.
- Support budgeting and financial planning operations by providing cost data and necessary analyses.
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and engineering teams to ensure data accuracy and standardization.
- Assist in preparing and developing costing procedures and related accounting policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Passion for costing and understanding concepts of financial analysis and industrial/production costs.
- Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office, especially Excel (advanced functions like VLOOKUP, PIVOT, and PowerQuery are a plus).
- Basic familiarity with accounting principles and product costing and operating costs.
- Ability to work accurately with data and multitask in a dynamic environment under limited supervision.
- Fluent in Arabic and preferably professional English with limited workplace use.
