Job Description

Overview

The AFC Inspector is responsible for monitoring and verifying the performance, condition and maintenance of Automatic Fare Collection systems across the network, ensuring compliance with contractual, operational and revenue protection requirements.

Your role

  • Conduct inspections of AFC systems including validators, gates, ticket vending machines and
  • backend interfaces to verify operational performance and availability.
  • Monitor contractor maintenance activities and ensure adherence to preventive and corrective maintenance standards.
  • Verify accuracy of fare collection systems and identify faults impacting revenue integrity and passenger experience.
  • Record defects, non-conformances and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented by Contractor.
  • Coordinate with AFC, telecom and IT teams to resolve system and integration-related issues.

About you

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in AFC systems, ticketing technologies or transport ITS environments.
  • Strong understanding of smart ticketing, fare systems and associated communication networks.
  • Experience in inspections, audits or maintenance monitoring roles.
  • Familiarity with asset management and reporting systems (e.g., Maximo) preferred.
