MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Reports To: Supervisor, Project Support Section
JOB PURPOSE
To inspect, analyze, advise and coordinate preventive maintenance and overhaul work for static mechanical equipments and systems across KJO production facilities in compliance with annual maintenance plans ensuring reliability, integrity, uninterrupted operations and sustenance of high productivity standards.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-day Operations
Maintenance Operations
Studies and analyzes information about installation, repair and maintenance work under the direction of the Supervisor and designs and prepares specifications, drawing & technical data for scheduled preventive maintenance operations while carrying out skilled inspection work on static mechanical equipments across KJO's production facilities.
Assists the Supervisor in preparing scope of work, including specifications, drawings and other electronic parts of tender documents for the preventive maintenance projects related to mechanical equipments.
Coordinates the on-site implementation of maintenance/improvement/ expansion projects with regard to onshore field mechanical equipment, including assisting contractors on site, carrying out actual installation, connection, configuration and running tests on equipment prior to handover.
Attends start-up, testing and commissioning of onshore mechanical equipment and reports to supervisor on acceptability.
Inspection & Mitigation
Closely associates with corrosion monitoring and protection programme while coordinating and assisting inspections, surveys & work assessments of facilities and reports anomalies to the Superintendent or concerned departments and arranges for required maintenance.
Analyse equipment threats and hazards and ensure implementation of standard operating procedure in order to maintain the integrity of all equipment and assure adherence to safety standards.
Technical Evaluations
Coordination with Contractors
Monitors and inspects contractors' work during overhaul maintenance activities to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of contract, and reports any discrepancy between contract and actual work to his supervisor.
Reviews, checks and compiles daily work reports prepared by contractors on concerned work progress and reports to the Supervisor.
