About the Role
A well-established optical Lab in and seeking an experienced Lens Edger Technician. The successful candidate will operate advanced lens cutting equipment and play a key role in delivering high-quality prescription eyewear to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate automated tracer-edger machines to cut and shape lenses for various frame types (full-rim, semi-rimless, and rimless)
- Read and accurately interpret prescriptions (SPH, CYL, AXIS, ADD, PD)
- Mount lenses into frames with precision, ensuring proper fit and alignment
- Perform drilling and groove cutting for rimless and semi-rimless frames
- Conduct quality control checks on every order before completion
- Maintain edging equipment, perform daily cleaning, and report technical issues
- Manage lens inventory and notify management of low stock levels
- Maintain accurate production records
- Handle progressive lenses, high-index lenses, polarized lenses, and Trivex materials
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience operating automated lens edging machines (Briot, Essilor, Nidek, or similar)
- Strong understanding of optical prescriptions and lens types
- Experience with rimless and semi-rimless frame mounting (drilling, grooving)
- Knowledge of various lens materials (CR-39, polycarbonate, high-index, Trivex)
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work efficiently under daily volume pressure
- Valid Saudi residency (Iqama) — sponsorship transfer required
- Basic English or Arabic communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with tracer-edger systems
- Knowledge of optical lab workflow and quality standards
- Ability to troubleshoot common edging issues independently
- Reliability and consistency in production output

Compensation Structure
- Base salary: To be discussed based on experience
