We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead all aspects of the residences’ physical environment—ensuring flawless operations, exceptional safety standards, and a seamless living experience for our residents. This is a critical leadership role, combining technical expertise with a highly service-oriented mindset.
What you will do
As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the overall integrity, safety, and performance of the residences’ infrastructure, ensuring all systems operate at the highest standard expected of The Ritz-Carlton brand.
Operational leadership
Lead day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations across the residences
Oversee all plant systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water treatment, and life safety
Ensure all facilities are maintained to optimal performance, efficiency, and safety standards
Act as the lead for emergency response and incident management
Asset & maintenance management
Implement and continuously refine a robust preventative maintenance programme
Conduct regular inspections of the property to proactively identify and address maintenance needs
Manage capital expenditure projects and support long-term asset protection strategies
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and brand standards
Financial & commercial oversight
Manage departmental budgets, controlling costs while maintaining exceptional quality
Support energy conservation initiatives and sustainable operational practices
Prioritise maintenance activities aligned with business needs and resident expectations
Resident experience
Actively contribute to an exceptional residential experience by ensuring all facilities operate seamlessly
Handle resident queries or concerns with professionalism and urgency
Foster a culture where service excellence is embedded within the engineering function
People leadership
Lead, develop, and inspire the engineering team
Promote a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance culture
Ensure all team members are trained in safety procedures and emergency protocols
Drive engagement, performance, and continuous improvement across the department
Who we’re looking for
You bring a balance of technical expertise, leadership capability, and service mindset, with the ability to operate in a high-profile, owner-led environment.
Experience & background
Proven experience in engineering or maintenance leadership within luxury hospitality, residences, or high-end real estate
Strong technical knowledge across building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety)
Experience managing budgets, capital projects, and preventative maintenance programmes
Exposure to pre-opening environments or complex developments is advantageous
Education
Degree in Engineering, Building Services, or a related field preferred
Alternatively, equivalent technical training with relevant professional experience
Leadership & personal attributes
Commercially aware with strong problem-solving capability
Calm and decisive in high-pressure or emergency situations
Highly service-oriented, with an understanding of luxury resident expectations
Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly in owner-facing environments
