About the job ELECTRICAL BIM MODELER
Electrical BIM Modeler is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing detailed 3D BIM models for electrical systems. The role includes modeling power distribution, lighting, low current systems, and fire alarm layouts while ensuring clash-free coordination and compliance with BIM standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed BIM models for electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, low current, and fire alarm systems
- Model electrical components such as LV panels, distribution boards, cabling, routing, and containment systems
- Prepare shop drawings, coordinated drawings, and as-built documentation from BIM models
- Perform clash detection using Navisworks and coordinate with other disciplines to resolve conflicts
- Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, structural, and MEP models to ensure integrated design
- Ensure models comply with project BIM standards, BIM Execution Plan (BEP), and ISO 19650 requirements
- Maintain required level of development (LOD 300–400) across all electrical models
- Extract quantities, bill of quantities (BOQs), material take-offs, and cable schedules from models
- Update models based on design revisions, RFIs, and site instructions
- Maintain proper file structure, naming conventions, and workflows within the Common Data Environment (CDE)
- Participate in coordination meetings and support resolution of technical and design issues
Key Qualifications:
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- 4 to 8 years of experience in electrical BIM modeling
- Experience working on building or infrastructure projects involving electrical systems
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP/electrical), AutoCAD, and Navisworks
- Strong understanding of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low current systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts
- Knowledge of load calculations, cable routing, and distribution principles
- Familiarity with lighting systems and ELV integration
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience in large-scale or complex projects is preferred
- Knowledge of Saudi or GCC electrical codes and standards is an advantage
- Experience in Revit family creation for electrical components is beneficial
- Familiarity with CDE platforms such as BIM 360 or similar is preferred
- Exposure to specialized facilities such as data centers, hospitals, or smart buildings is an advantage
