In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of advanced Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems tailored for the Aquatics Centre, ensuring high standards of functionality, sustainability, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities Develop and manage the MEP design for the Aquatics Centre, ensuring it meets all operational, safety, and sustainability requirements.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and design teams to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into the overall design of the Aquatics Centre.
Oversee preparation of technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for MEP systems, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations.
Directly engage in the selection of systems, products, and materials that are energy-efficient and cost-effective.
Review and approve design calculations, ensuring that MEP designs are accurate and achievable.
Lead project meetings and design reviews to communicate objectives, progress, and challenges related to MEP design.
Coordinate with contractors and consultants during the implementation phase to ensure adherence to design specifications.
Identify potential design risks and implement corrective actions proactively.
Mentor team members and contribute to their professional development within the engineering and design fields.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
A minimum of 8-10 years of extensive experience in MEP design, with a strong focus on projects related to aquatics or recreational facilities.
Demonstrated expertise in the design and analysis of MEP systems specifically for aquatic environments.
Strong knowledge of relevant local codes, standards, and best practices for MEP engineering.
Excellent leadership and project management abilities, with a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in MEP design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and associated engineering tools.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills for effectively conveying concepts and updates to stakeholders.
