Job Purpose Apigee Operations Team Lead is responsible for leading and managing enterprise application operations (L1–L3) with a primary focus on Apigee API Management. The role ensures the availability, performance, security, and regulatory compliance of API and application services supporting critical government and financial environments, while driving operational excellence, team development, and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities Solid understanding of enterprise application architectures and API management platforms. Lead and oversee daily managed services operations, resource allocation, and SLA delivery for enterprise application services. Manage end-to-end Apigee API platform operations, including deployments, performance monitoring, security controls, and incident resolution. Establish and manage monitoring, incident response, problem management, and escalation processes across L1–L3 support levels. Ensure high availability, scalability, and secure operation of APIs in pre-production and production environments. Mentor, develop, and supervise a team of L1, L2, and L3 engineers, fostering technical growth and operational maturity. Drive continuous service improvement, process optimization, and operational efficiency initiatives. Collaborate with application development teams, infrastructure teams, service desk, and business stakeholders. Ensure adherence to security, risk management, and regulatory compliance requirements applicable to government and financial sectors. Actively identify and mitigate operational, security, and compliance risks through robust processes and controls.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum Experience 5+ years of experience in enterprise application support or operations environments.
Job-Specific Skills Hands-on experience operating Google Apigee API Management platforms. Strong hands-on expertise in Apigee API operations, security, and performance management. In-depth knowledge of API security standards and mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT). Experience working with enterprise architectures, cloud platforms (especially GCP), and containerized environments. Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools and frameworks (e.g., ITIL). Understanding of Dev Ops and Dev Sec Ops practices. Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, mission-critical environments. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Power Shell. Experience with monitoring, performance optimization, and operational analytics tools. Proven ability to work in multicultural, cross-functional teams. Strong awareness of regulatory, cybersecurity, and compliance frameworks applicable to government and financial environments.
