Overall Role Purpose
To design, implement, and oversee customs clearance programs and systems, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement in alignment with DHL and Saudi Customs regulations.
Your Tasks:
Customs Strategy & Compliance:
- Develop and maintain customs clearance policies, procedures, and systems.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Customs, GCC, and international trade regulations.
- Monitor regulatory changes and adapt programs accordingly.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Saudi and GCC customs laws.
Program & Process Management:
- Design and implement customs clearance programs and workflows.
- Lead customs-related projects, including system implementations and process improvements.
- Ensure system integration and data accuracy across platforms.
- Collaborate with IT, Operations, and Compliance teams to enhance customs automation and data integrity.
Performance & Risk Management:
- Monitor and report on customs KPIs, including clearance times, costs, and compliance metrics.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments.
- Implement corrective actions for non-compliance.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.
Training & Development:
- Train and support operations teams on customs processes and systems.
- Develop training materials and deliver customs process training.
- Lead and develop customs program team members.
- Conduct performance reviews and support career development.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership:
- Manage relationships with customs authorities and other external stakeholders.
- Drive a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement within the customs team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Your Profile:
- Business Acumen: Deep understanding of customs operations, trade compliance, and financial impact.
- Regulatory Insight: Keeps current with customs laws, GCC regulations, and international trade agreements.
- Stakeholder Management: Builds strong relationships with customs authorities and internal teams.
- Leadership & Influence: Leads without direct authority and drives change across functions.
- Strategic Thinking: Aligns customs programs with business objectives and regional strategy
- Saudi/GCC customs environment required, Proven track record in program delivery and system implementation, Management experience in a multinational environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
Customs broker certification or equivalent preferred - Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Strong Analytical skills
- Fluent in English, Arabic language is an added advantage.
