Job Purpose
Creating detailed civil engineering designs and schematics for various projects. Analyzing project requirements, developing and testing civil systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders to deliver efficient and reliable designs. Providing innovative solutions that meet technical specifications and project objectives while optimizing performance and cost.
Key Accountability Areas
Design and Development:
- Create detailed civil engineering designs, schematics, and layouts for projects, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards. Conduct load calculations, site evaluations, and performance analyses to ensure designs are efficient, reliable, and compliant with relevant codes and regulations.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Verify that all designs comply with national and local civil engineering codes, safety standards, and quality assurance procedures.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to integrate civil systems with other project components and requirements. Communicate with clients to understand their needs, provide technical advice, and present design concepts and solutions.
Project Management:
- Review and approve design modifications and changes, ensuring they align with project goals and specifications.
Problem-Solving and Innovation:
- Identify and resolve design issues, perform site assessments, and provide solutions to technical challenges that arise during the implementation phase. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and solutions.
