The HSE Director is responsible for leading and governing all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) aspects of a mega luxury hotel construction project. The role ensures full compliance with regulatory, client, and international standards while driving a strong safety culture across all project phases. The HSE Director provides strategic leadership to eliminate risk, prevent incidents, and ensure a safe, compliant, and sustainable project environment.
Key Responsibilities Develop and implement project-specific HSE strategy and HSE Management System aligned with company and client objectives. Provide visible leadership to embed a zero-harm safety culture across the project and contractor workforce. Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and client HSE requirements. Lead risk assessments, method statement reviews, and emergency preparedness planning. Oversee contractor and subcontractor HSE performance across all construction activities. Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and near-misses, ensuring corrective and preventive actions. Monitor HSE KPIs, analyze trends, and report performance to senior management and stakeholders. Lead, mentor, and manage the project HSE team and interface with regulatory authorities and the client.
Knowledge & Skills Strong expertise in construction HSE management for mega projects, preferably luxury hospitality. Proven leadership, risk management, and incident investigation capabilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. ERP knowledge (preferably SAP) is an advantage.
Experience & Qualifications Minimum 16+ years HSE experience, including 5 years in a leadership role on large construction projects. GCC experience preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field. NEBOSH Diploma / Level 6 OHS qualification (mandatory).
