We are seeking a highly qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Riyadh – King Abdulaziz District. The ideal candidate shall meet the following requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

• 7 to 10 years of proven experience in Fire & Life Safety (FLS) systems.
• Solid experience working with engineering consultancy offices.
• Full knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC), particularly the Saudi Fire Code.
• Strong and certified knowledge of NFPA standards.
• Demonstrated experience in:
• Preparing Fire & Life Safety drawings and technical reports.
• Compiling and submitting Civil Defense approval documents.
• Following up on technical comments and securing final approvals.
• Ability to coordinate with authorities, consultants, and contractors.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Skills

Technical & Professional Skills

• Advanced knowledge of Fire & Life Safety systems (Firefighting, Fire Alarm, Smoke Management, Emergency Egress).
• Expert understanding of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and Saudi Fire Code.
• Strong command of NFPA standards.
• Ability to review, verify, and endorse FLS design drawings and calculations.
• Experience in Civil Defense submissions, approvals, and final handover procedures.
• Proficiency in identifying code compliance gaps and proposing corrective actions.
• Solid understanding of inspection, testing, and commissioning (ITC) requirements.
• Familiarity with UL / FM listed equipment and approval requirements.

Regulatory & Authority Coordination

• Proven experience dealing with Saudi Civil Defense and other authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
• Ability to respond professionally to authority comments, RFIs, and observations.
• Knowledge of permitting workflows and approval procedures in Saudi Arabia.

Project & Site Skills

• Strong site supervision and coordination capabilities.
• Ability to review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and method statements.
• Experience in conducting site inspections and issuing technical reports.
• Capability to identify construction non-conformities and ensure corrective measures.

Software & Tools

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Familiarity with Revit / BIM is an advantage.
• Good command of engineering calculation tools and documentation software.
• Professional use of MS Office for reports, schedules, and correspondence.
