We are seeking a highly skilled VMware Horizon View Engineer to support and enhance our enterprise VDI environment. This role focuses exclusively on Horizon core infrastructure, secure access, image lifecycle management, and end-user experience across globally distributed environments.
About the Role
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technologist with deep Horizon expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to optimize and scale a multi-site VDI platform.
Responsibilities
Horizon Infrastructure & Access Management Deploy, configure, and maintain Horizon Connection Servers, Replica Servers, and Unified Access Gateways (UAG). Manage secure external access, authentication flows, and certificate lifecycle. Oversee pool configurations, entitlements, and session reliability across environments. Authentication, Security & Directory Integration Integrate Horizon with Active Directory, MFA/PKI, SSL certificates, and conditional access policies. Maintain compliance with security standards and ensure hardened Horizon access paths. Pool Administration & Session Troubleshooting Manage Instant Clone and Linked Clone desktop pools. Troubleshoot session launches, login failures, redirection issues, and connectivity problems. Support users with Horizon-related issues as Level 2 escalation. Image & Application Lifecycle Build, update, and optimize Golden Images for Windows 10/11. Package and deliver applications via App Volumes. Maintain image security compliance, patch levels, and application compatibility. Persistent & Non-Persistent Desktop Support Manage persistent and non-persistent VDI environments. Support user profile persistence through DEM/UEM or equivalent tools. App Volume Manager Manage writable volumes and App Stack. Package, assign and maintain application using app volume. Troubleshooting application attachment failures and writable volume mount issues. Automation, Optimization & Documentation Automate tasks using Power Shell to streamline image deployment, pool operations, and health checks. Improve workflows, reduce downtime, and enhance operational efficiency. Create documentation, SOPs, diagrams, and provide knowledge transfer. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.5+ years of hands-on experience with VMware Horizon View in enterprise environments. Strong knowledge of Horizon Connection Server architecture. Unified Access Gateway (UAG). MFA/PKI/SSL certificate management. Instant Clone and Linked Clone pools. Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP. User profile technologies (DEM/UEM or similar). Experience building and optimizing Windows 10/11 Golden Images. Proficiency in automation using Power Shell (or Bash). Experience with App Volumes or other application packaging tools. Background supporting multi-site or high-availability Horizon environments. Strong troubleshooting capabilities for session performance, logon delays, and secure access flows. Excellent documentation skills and ability to train junior engineers.
