Summary
Responsible for undertaking the management of research studies and clinical trials with minimal supervision of a senior research scientist, monitors equipment, data bases and records results of the study.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Receives general directions regarding the research from the senior scientist, schedule and assigns work to Clinical Research coordinators and research technicians.
- Assists in the lead as a medical monitor of the clinical trial involving human research and interventional studies along with and under supervision of principal investigators.
- Assists in guiding them in setting up the equipment as per study protocols, research methodology and sound research techniques.
- Researches literature to determine the most suitable methodology and to advise users.
- Responsible for ensuring that all necessary resources are available and all equipment and supplies are adequate.
- Responsible for evaluating and counselling the Clinical Research coordinators and research technicians to improve their performance and monitor their activity closely and keep the record of all activities assigned to them.
- Responsible for assessing their training needs, advising senior scientists of their training needs and conducting training programs.
- Participates in on boarding new technicians into the department by educating them about the department’s policies, procedures and norms.
- Participates in Department specific and Organization wide quality improvement plans.
- Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
- Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
PhD, Master’s or Bachelor Degree in a directly related discipline in Science, Medicine, Applied sciences, Allied Health or other related discipline is required.
Experience Required
Four (4) years of related experience with PhD, six (6) years with Master’s, or eight (8) years with Bachelor’s degree is required.
Other Requirements(Certificates)
Scientific productivity must be measured in the form of publications in reputable scientific journals.
