Job Purpose The HSE Manager leads and continuously improves Health, Safety, and Environmental systems across Tanmiah Food Company operations. The role ensures compliance with local and international HSE regulations, promotes a strong safety culture, minimizes workplace risks, and supports sustainable operations across farms, processing facilities, logistics, and support functions. This position safeguards employees, assets, the environment, and the company’s reputation while enabling operational excellence across the farm-to-fork value chain.
Key Responsibilities HSE Leadership & Governance:Lead the implementation of Tanmiah’s HSE strategy, policies, procedures, and standards across all operational sites. Promote a proactive HSE culture through leadership engagement, visible commitment, and employee involvement. Act as the primary HSE authority supporting business units and functional leaders. Hazard Identification & Risk Management:Conduct regular site visits to identify workplace hazards across farms, processing plants, warehouses, and other locations. Lead HSE risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and determination of appropriate control measures. Ensure hierarchy of controls is applied effectively to mitigate risks. Compliance & Regulatory Management Ensure full compliance with local regulations, international HSE standards, and Tanmiah internal policies. Evaluate legal and other compliance obligations related to health, safety, and environmental legislation. Prepare for and support external audits, inspections, and regulatory visits. Audits, Inspections & Reporting Conduct periodic HSE inspections and internal audits to assess compliance and performance. Analyze audit findings, track corrective actions, and report results to the management. Review safety officers’ reports, analyze trends, and present insights and recommendations. Incident Management & Investigation Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses. Analyze injury and incident data to identify root causes and systemic issues. Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and monitored for effectiveness. Training & Awareness Develop and implement HSE training and awareness programs for employees and contractors. Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and targeted HSE training sessions. Ensure employees are aware of HSE risks, emergency procedures, and safe work practices. Environmental Management Support implementation of environmental management programs related to waste, emissions, resource usage, and sustainability. Monitor environmental risks and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company ESG commitments. Emergency Preparedness Develop, review, and test emergency response plans across sites. Coordinate emergency drills and ensure readiness for fire, chemical spills, accidents, and other emergencies. Stakeholder Engagement Participate in mid-level and senior safety meetings. Collaborate with Operations, Support Functions and ESG teams to integrate HSE into daily operations. Educate vendors and suppliers in meeting Tanmiah’s HSE standards.
Requirements and Qualifications Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Professional Qualification: NEBOSH (IGC or equivalent) IOSH / OSHA Certification OTHM Level 6 or H&S Diploma Additional environmental or sustainability certifications are an advantage Professional Experience:Minimum 10+ years of progressive HSE experience. Proven experience in poultry, food manufacturing, agriculture, FMCG, or industrial environments. Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, risk management, audits, and incident investigations. Experience leading HSE teams and managing multiple operational sites.
