ResponsibilitiesOur newest opportunity is for a talented Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist to join our award winning team in Riyadh, KSA.
The GIS Specialist is a technical professional responsible for capturing, storing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing spatial and geographic data to support planning, design, construction, and asset management activities on a mega construction project. The role plays a critical part in transforming complex datasets into meaningful geospatial insights, maps, and digital tools that enable informed decision-making across multidisciplinary project teams.
We envisage success in this role to include;
GIS Data Management & Acquisition
Collecting, validating, and managing spatial data from multiple sources including GPS surveys, drone imagery, satellite data, BIM models, and contractor submissions.
Maintaining and updating enterprise GIS databases ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with project standards.
Integrating GIS data with engineering, construction, and asset management systems.
Spatial Analysis & Decision Support
Performing spatial analysis to support project planning, construction sequencing, utilities coordination, land use, environmental constraints, and risk assessments.
Analyzing geographic patterns and trends related to infrastructure development, logistics, site access, utilities, and environmental considerations.
Providing geospatial insights to support management, design teams, and stakeholders.
Cartography & Visualization
Producing high-quality, clear, and visually compelling maps, dashboards, and reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Developing thematic maps illustrating progress, constraints, utilities, land ownership, and project interfaces.
Ensuring maps adhere to corporate, project, and client branding and cartographic standards.
GIS Application & Tool Development
Developing and maintain web-based GIS applications, dashboards, and mobile data collection tools to support field operations and real-time reporting.
Configuring GIS tools for site inspections, progress tracking, issue reporting, and asset data capture.
Supporting integration of GIS with BIM, Digital Twin platforms, and Common Data Environments (CDE).
Stakeholder Coordination & Support
Working closely with engineers, planners, surveyors, contractors, and client representatives to understand GIS requirements.
Providing GIS technical support and training to project teams as required.
Ensuring GIS deliverables meet contractual, client, and regulatory requirements.
Quality, Compliance & Technical Skills
Implementing GIS best practices, data governance standards, and quality control procedures.
Ensuring compliance with local regulations, Saudi standards, and project-specific GIS protocols.
Supporting continuous improvement of GIS workflows and digital engineering processes.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Enterprise) and related tools.
- Strong experience with spatial data analysis, geodatabases, and geospatial data models.
- Experience with web GIS, dashboards, and mobile data collection applications.
- Familiarity with integrating GIS with BIM, CAD, and project management systems.
- Knowledge of remote sensing, drone data, and satellite imagery is an advantage.
QualificationsTo be successful in this role we envision that you will bring a minimum of 10 years experience partnered with a Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of GIS experience, preferably within construction, infrastructure, or large-scale development projects
