Job Title: Procurement Director– Project Role Purpose:The Director of Procurement is responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic procurement function at Albawani, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods, materials, and services that support the company's construction, infrastructure, and manufacturing operations. This role is critical in developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with Albawani's overarching business objectives, while fostering strong relationships with key suppliers and driving continuous improvement in the procurement process.
Key Accountabilities & Key Activities:Strategic Procurement Leadership:Develop and execute the company's long-term procurement strategy, identifying opportunities for cost savings, process optimization, and supply chain resilience Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement initiatives with the organization's business goals and operational needs Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the procurement function, driving continuous improvement Provide strategic guidance and direction to the procurement team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence Category Management and Sourcing:Lead the category management process, overseeing the development and implementation of category-specific sourcing strategies Evaluate and select suppliers based on criteria such as cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability, negotiating favorable contract terms Implement and oversee effective supplier relationship management practices, fostering collaboration and driving mutual value creation Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, developing contingency plans to ensure the continuity of critical business operations Procurement Operations Management:Streamline and optimize procurement processes, including requisition, purchase order management, e-procurement, and invoice processing Ensure the effective utilization of procurement systems and tools to drive efficiency and data-driven decision-making Monitor and manage procurement budgets, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures Manage the procurement team, including talent development, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement Financial and Risk Management:Manage the procurement budget and control expenditures to achieve cost savings and maintain financial discipline Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the procurement function's effectiveness, cost-efficiency, and compliance Implement robust risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions, contractual issues, and other procurement-related risks Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as project managers, operations teams, and finance, to understand their procurement needs and priorities Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, industry associations, and external partners to stay abreast of market trends and best practices Represent the procurement function in cross-functional initiatives, communicating the value and impact of the procurement team's contributions Job Specifications:Industry / Domain: Diversified industry, construction, construction management, engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing concerns Necessary Knowledge and Experience Minimum 20-25 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role Comprehensive understanding of the construction, infrastructure, and manufacturing industries, including market dynamics, regulatory environments, and best procurement practices Proven track record in developing and implementing strategic procurement initiatives that drive cost savings, process efficiencies, and supply chain optimization Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data-driven insights to inform decision-making Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing procurement teams Education and Certification – Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field Preferred: Master's degree in a relevant discipline or an MBACertifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or relevant industry-specific certifications would be an advantage. Job Specific Technical Skills:Proficient in using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics 365, for procurement and supply chain management Familiarity with e-procurement platforms, contract management tools, and other procurement-related technologies Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to use advanced data visualization and business intelligence tools
