Job Details

Role Purpose The Procurement Specialist is essential to the organization’s daily operations and is responsible for managing theprocurement process to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services while following procurementpolicies and procedures to ensure process compliance. The Procurement Specialist collaborates closely with variousdepartments to assess their procurement needs, conducts market research, and negotiates favourable agreements withsuppliers, including outsourced services. This position also focuses on building and maintaining positive relationships withvendors, monitoring supplier performance, and addressing potential procurement-related issues. A key responsibility ismonitoring procurement KPIs and implementing strategies to improve them, ensuring that procurement practices align withorganizational goals and drive operational efficiency in the organization’s success.
Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities:Policy & Procedures Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to internal policies and procedures andrelevant legal and regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain procurement guidelines to promote transparency,accountability, and ethical sourcing practices within the organization. Supplier Management & Market Research: Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensureconsistent quality, pricing, and reliability of materials. Conduct thorough market research to identify potential newsuppliers, assess market trends, and stay informed about industry innovations that enhance procurement strategies. Procurement Cycles Overall Management: Oversee the complete procurement cycle, from identifying needs tosourcing and acquiring materials and services. Streamline processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, andensure that all procurement activities align with production requirements and business goals. Vendor Agreements Negotiation: Lead negotiations with vendors to establish favorable terms and conditions insupplier agreements. Focus on securing competitive pricing, quality standards, delivery timelines, and service levelsthat support the company's operational objectives and cost management efforts. KPIs Monitoring and Improvement: Implement and track KPIs related to procurement activities, such as costsavings, lead times, and supplier performance. Regularly analyze KPI data to identify process improvementopportunities and drive initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness. Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, such as production, engineering,and finance, to accurately identify procurement needs and align purchasing plans with organizational goals. Facilitate communication and coordination among teams to ensure timely fulfillment of requirements and optimalresource allocation.
Education, Qualifications, and Experience:Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, Engineering, or a related field.
