We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Make and Pack Cook for Portioning to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and portioning food according to recipe specifications, ensuring high-quality standards, and packing meals for distribution or storage. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that each meal is consistent, safe, and ready for delivery or service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation:
  • Prepare and cook meals following recipes and portioning guidelines.
  • Ensure that all ingredients are prepped and ready for cooking, including washing, cutting, and marinating.
  • Cook and monitor food items to ensure they meet quality and taste standards.
  • Portioning:
  • Accurately portion prepared meals according to set portion sizes or customer specifications.
  • Use proper tools and equipment to measure and portion food to meet dietary and nutritional standards.
  • Packing and Storing:
  • Pack meals into appropriate containers for distribution or storage, ensuring proper labeling and organization.
  • Label and date each container to comply with food safety standards.
  • Ensure all food is stored at the correct temperature and is properly sealed to maintain freshness.
  • Kitchen Organization:
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure food safety and hygiene.
  • Follow all safety guidelines regarding food handling, equipment usage, and sanitation.
  • Assist with inventory management by tracking food usage and notifying supervisors of low stock.
  • Compliance & Quality Control:
  • Ensure all food items are prepared and packaged according to health and safety regulations.
  • Perform regular checks to ensure the quality of the food and maintain consistency.


Skills

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, including proper handling, sanitation, and storage.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality meals.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and recipes precisely.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to lift heavy containers and materials, if necessary.
  • Dexterity to handle knives and kitchen tools safely.
